Treat. Yo. Self.

Where did you grow up? - I grew up in Middletown, OH.

Did you do any sports/activities growing up? - I was on the wrestling team and did theater in high school. Also, I was certainly the worst player on my 6th grade basketball team.

Nickname? - "King Video" Everyone calls me that...

Favorite food? - Pad Thai, GOOD Pad Thai

Favorite genre of music or band? - The Mountain Goats, Against Me! I mostly listen to a mix of folk, punk, and folk punk with some movie soundtracks thrown in.

Favorite podcast? - I listen to a lot of podcasts, but Harmontown, Lore, Radiolab, and Dumb People Town are regular listens.

What is your favorite thing about the video production industry?

I really enjoy shaping and creating moments. There's nothing quite like the feeling when everything is clicking during a shoot, but the story is told through the edit. I think of editing grammatically in that each section of a video should be a coherent thought or sentence. It's when you find the right punctuation that the magic happens.

If you weren't working in video production, what would your job be?

I was a photographer for 9 years, so I'd probably be doing that. But that's sorta cheating. I'm not really qualified for much else. Grifter? Vagabond? Someone who sorta travels the carnival circuit but doesn't work for the carnival directly?

What/where is your favorite place to visit/vacation?

I used to work on a cruise ship, so I've been fortunate to travel, and my two favorite places I've been are Bali, Indonesia and this little park in Hobart, Tasmania where I took a nap once in the warm grass under the shade on a beautiful day with some friends.. I also like L.A. where a bunch of my friends live.

Where could people find you in your free time around Dayton?

Plenty of places. But I'm a big fan of The Neon. I'm seen wandering around the Oregon District occasionally. Tanks. Blue House Gallery. Plenty of parks and places with cool textures and design.

Do you have any hobbies?

I watch a variety of sports. Video games. I write occasionally. It's currently Fantasy Football season though, so that has to take some kind of priority.

If you could only watch 5 movies/tv shows, what would they be?

If I could ONLY watch? I'm picking all TV then -- more content.

Friday Night Lights, Six Feet Under, Parks and Recreation, Unsolved Mysteries (Robert Stack only, please), and Rick and Morty

What inspires you when working on a new project?

I'm inspired by possibilities. There are so many ways to tell a story or convey a message or sell a product. A careful creator has to pick the right tools and use them in the correct way to craft something of quality and, dare I say, substance. That inspires me.

When was the hardest you ever laughed?

That's a good question, and I wish I had an answer. I laugh a lot -- too much, perhaps. I can't pinpoint an exact time. Or place. Or moment.

What is your favorite piece of gear when shooting?

The camera.
